Immediate opening for Electrical Engineer. Experience working in the Dept of Energy complex preferred. This position requires a person with exceptional energy and broad-based technical expertise with power distribution and process controls.
Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical design tasks for the development of conceptual design, preliminary design and final design documents.
- Prepare electrical engineering calculations in support of electrical system designs including electrical equipment sizing, feeder sizing, equipment selection, load flow, protection coordination, and arc flash hazard analysis.
- Ensure adherence to industry and customer standards.
- Maintain well-documented project technical deliverables.
- Provide construction RFI support and technical leadership.
- Conduct site visits and inspections.
- Coordinates with other disciplines in the preparation and development of the deliverables.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college
- 3+ years experience in power system design and analysis
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineering License (PE)
- 7+ years experience in power system design and analysis for the Dept of Energy complex
- Experience working as an electrical consultant and managing projects.
- Experience with electrical modeling software such as SKM or ETAP.
- Experience with drafting in AutoCAD.
